Australia & New Zealand at a glance

Australia and New Zealand are the aspiration booking for GCC clients — the long-haul journey saved for milestone honeymoons, extended family summers and once-in-a-lifetime touring. Through our representation of Australia & Worldwide Travel (AWWT), a Sydney-headquartered inbound tour operator that already counts the Middle East among its core source markets, agents get trade-first ground handling across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific: tailor-made holidays, series groups and full MICE programmes, built by a leadership team with decades at Qantas Holidays and Emirates. With nonstop Gulf flights into Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the logistics are simpler than clients expect — and the selling season is exactly opposite to the Gulf's, making December-to-February the perfect winter-break pitch.

Australia & Worldwide Travel (AWWT)

The on-the-ground partner behind every Australia & New Zealand itinerary we package.

Australia & Worldwide Travel Pty. Ltd. — AWWT — is an inbound tour operator and destination management company specialising in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Founded in April 2022 and headquartered on George Street in Sydney, with a branch office in Melbourne and a sales office in Mumbai, the company is built for the trade: it partners with travel agents to design and operate itineraries, serving source markets across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, India and the South Pacific.

The leadership brings serious pedigree. Managing partner Leon Ellas has over 40 years in travel including Qantas Holidays in Australia and the UK, while fellow managing partner Ian D'Nazareth carries over 25 years of international experience including Emirates Airlines in Dubai — a direct line into how the Gulf market travels. Sumaira Kabir heads sales from Mumbai with more than 20 years in the industry, including Tourism Australia's India office.

Service lines cover tailor-made holidays, leisure and series groups, and MICE and special-interest groups — meetings, incentives, corporate events, hotel and venue selection, entertainment, team building and AV management. On the ground, AWWT handles transfers, activities, local experiences and restaurant recommendations, so a Gulf agent can deliver a fully organised programme from airport arrival to the last night's dinner.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What GCC agents ask us most about Australia & New Zealand.

How long is the flight from Dubai to Australia?

Approximately 13.5 to 14.5 hours nonstop from Dubai to Sydney or Melbourne, with Brisbane also served nonstop; Auckland is around 17+ hours, typically one-stop or on the long nonstop when it operates. Emirates' network makes single-carrier routings straightforward for Gulf clients.

Do GCC clients need visas for Australia and New Zealand?

For Australia, UAE citizens are eligible for the Electronic Travel Authority while other GCC nationals generally apply online for a Visitor visa (subclass 600). For New Zealand, UAE citizens travel visa-waiver with an NZeTA while most other GCC nationals need a visitor visa. Requirements change and vary by nationality — confirm current rules for your client with our team at booking.

Who is Australia & Worldwide Travel (AWWT)?

AWWT is a Sydney-headquartered inbound tour operator and DMC for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, founded in 2022, with a Melbourne branch and a Mumbai sales office. Its managing partners bring over 40 years' experience including Qantas Holidays and over 25 years including Emirates Airlines in Dubai, and the Middle East is one of its named source markets. Byond Borders represents AWWT to the GCC trade.

Can you book New Zealand itineraries too?

Yes — New Zealand sits squarely within AWWT's specialisation, alongside Australia and the South Pacific. AWWT publishes no fixed New Zealand circuits, so every NZ programme is built to order around your clients' dates, interests and pace; send us the brief and we'll come back with a tailored itinerary and rates.

When should GCC clients travel to Australia and New Zealand?

Remember the seasons are inverted: December–February is the southern-hemisphere summer, which lines up neatly with the GCC winter break, while June–August — the Gulf summer holiday — is winter down under, bringing ski season in New Zealand and the Australian Alps and pleasantly mild weather in tropical Queensland.

Does AWWT handle groups and MICE?

Yes. Alongside tailor-made holidays, AWWT runs leisure and series groups plus a dedicated MICE and special-interest capability — meetings, incentives, corporate events, hotel and venue selection, entertainment, team building and AV management — with ground handling for transfers, activities and dining throughout.
